Perfect love casts out fear
Filling the heart with peace so near
Darkness can't hide from its glorious light
Laying itself with power and might.
A love that is perfect is a love that is complete. When we are loved completely it means that we ought to consider that there is no room for fear. I think of a suitcase filled with items that I would need to go on a trip. I have everything I need and there's no more room for anything else. We may still feel fear at times when we are challenged with difficult or uncomfortable situations but it helps me to know that there is a perfect love that I cannot be separated from and that is the love of God through Jesus Christ which will hold me together. There is no greater love than one who lays down His own life for others! Do you ever recall a time when you felt so courageous to do something because you had someone by you? I think of children and how they can be so confident when their parents are nearby. I hope to grow more and more confident in this and look forward to the day that what I think and feel will line up. It certainly is a process and it takes situations that you are uncomfortable with to get you there. I'm not asking for those uncomfortable situations but they seem to be a guarantee in this life wouldn't you say? When they do come may we remember God's love casts out any fear that we may have.
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love.
