Keep your mind on Jesus Christ
The only true sacrifice
Perfect peace found only in Him
A light in the dark that never grows dim
When things of this world get you down
Seek him who wears the lasting crown
Do you wake up some times with the burden of this dark world on your mind? The world is increasingly becoming darker as time goes on and the more you look into matters of truth, the more you understand that we are living in a season where the adversary, Satan is desperately trying to deceive the minds of people so they don't know the truth about the one true God. He's not looking to get rid of churches, he wants to confuse, corrupt and discredit the Word of God through churches. According to a google search I did, there are apparently 45,000 to 47,300 different denominations that consider themselves in the category of Christendom! This is incredible. The Body of Christ certainly is a motley crew to say the least!
What is one to do with a heavy spirit and a plethora of information out there? We look to Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith. He is the Living Word and this is where we start. We can turn to the Holy Bible and look to the written word for comfort. When despondency attempts to work its way into my spirt, it is the word that I look to for reassurance. I will say, the Joy of the Lord is my strength; I can do all things through Christ which gives me strength; For God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power and love and of a sound mind; The Lord is my light and salvation, whom shall I fear. There are so many passages in the scriptures that armour us with the truth. This is why the word is referred to as a sword.
When the things of the world are getting us down, it is an opportunity to see where we are fixing our minds and can reveal that we are putting too much hope in this world. The things of the world should not be our source of joy. Only Jesus fits that description and there is nothing that can take that away from us.
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
